Laura Williams GIF Analysis

This Is my Laura Williams inspired GIF. I feel that overall it is a successful GIF as it conveys the similarities of Williams's work whilst still linking to distortion. From observing the animation I personally think that when the background shots are used as the background. the GIF turns into more of a short time lapse as you are able to identify where the animation starts and stops. This is due to the people walking across the frame. if there were no people for example and the leaves on a tree were moving. it would be harder to identify when the frames revert back to the beginning. However I do like the way this has turned out. I used a focal length of 125mm so that the depth of field would become more prominent  as I wanted to split the tree from the background. The shutter speed i used was at 1/1250 this meant that every shot used for the background was at of the same sharpness. If i was going to shoot in a similar way to this again i would shoot at a slower shutter speed of around 1" so that the people would turn into a blur. By doing this It could be a solution for the non flowing GIF andd could make it more smooth.

  1. I really like this idea and wish that you had show it to me earlier in the project. This would have given you the opportunity to develop it and produce a set of finals that feel like your own work rather than a copy of someone else's.
